Construction began in mid-August on the Masonic Avenue Streetscape project. The project includes raised bike lanes, wider sidewalks, a new median, new paving, landscaping, lighting, upgraded sewers, and fewer car lanes.
When construction began, machinery was parked between Oak and Fell Streets and created traffic backup on Oak as well as on Masonic. By the last weeks of August, activity had moved uphill to Grove Street, easing the Oak Street backup, and creating backup further north on Masonic. Construction is planned to continue through November, 2017.
