Foodrunners is a non-profit with a mission of feeding those in need with food that would otherwise be wasted. It does this by picking up excess food from businesses and delivering it to agencies that feed the hungry in San Francisco. The Waller Center (the former Hamilton Church) at Waller and Belvedere, which had been an urban retreat and community center, found itself empty as groups canceled their reservations for February, March, and later. Foodrunners expressed an interest in using the Waller Center kitchen, and now Chef Todd Corboy, and a team of volunteers, many who had lost their food service jobs, now deliver approximately 2,000 meals per day, six days a week (the Haight-Ashbury Food Pantry uses the space on Saturdays) from that location.
