HANC's monthly (except August) general membership meeting is usually held downstairs at the Park Branch Library, 1833 Page Street (between Cole and Shrader) on the second Thursday of the month, beginning at 7 pm. This month's meeting will be at The Bindery, 1727 Haight Street (between Cole and Shrader). Our meetinngs are open to the public and free to attend.
As we reported in the October Voice (https://www.hanc-sf.org/24-home/505-hanc-celebrates-60-years), the first meeting of the Haight Ashbury Neighborhood Council took place on October 15, 1959. This month, our meeting will include a celebration of our 60th anniversary. The meeting will include a presentation of How the Haight Voted in the November election (see accompanying article in the next column), followed by the celebration of our 60th anniversary.
We are honoring neighbors, neighborhood groups, and the artists and writers who have contributed to HANC and to the Haight-Ashbury culture. We encourage our local writers and artists to display their work.
The celebration will include a dessert potluck. HANC will provide some food. As always, our meetings are free and open to the public. Come join us for a once in a lifetime (or at least once in 60 years) event!
